TNT To Begin Recording This Week
October 28, 2006Vocalist Tony Mills of the Norwegian/British hard rock veterans TNT has issued the following update on the recording sessions for the band's new album:
"So, after a week in pre-production with Ronni [Le Tekro, guitar], Victor and H.P. Gundersen [Norwegian producer], it's back to Oslo to commence the recording of the new album. The recording starts on 1st November and continues throughout the month into December. There are one or two shows in December; the Rosendal show has been confirmed on 16th December. Then it will be back into the studio until the seasonal break. We plan to continue into January with H.P. and probably be in a position to land in Denmark in February."
On the direction of the new songs, Mills wrote, "The material has a hard edge but the commercial overtone remains. There is a lot of scope for massive production and I personally see it heading that way over the coming months. Some strong guitar patterns and plenty of room for some vocal and instrumental gymnastics."
As previously reported, Norway's Metal Express Radio recently conducted an interview with Tony Mills (ex-SHY). Listen to the chat in two parts: Part#1, Part#2.
Mills joined TNT as the replacement for longtime singer Tony Harnell, who left the group in April.
Harnell's final release as a member of TNT was the "Live in Madrid" DVD, which came out in September via MTM Music. The set, which was filmed on April 1, 2006 in Madrid, Spain, was accompanied by an 82-minute audio CD plus booklet liner notes from Harnell about his work with the group as well as an additional tour documentary by Darren Paltrowitz.
